Are you passionate about curating exceptional wine experiences? Do you thrive in dynamic culinary environments? Roe, the highly anticipated sister restaurant to Fallow, is seeking a talented and experienced Sommelier to join our wine team in our exciting new opening.

THE LOCATION

Conscious & creative dining in the heart of Wood Wharf from the trio behind Fallow restaurant. Named after native deer of the British Isles, Roe will follow the same nose-to-tail and root-to-stem ethos as its critically acclaimed sister restaurant, Fallow St James’s.
The extensive a la carte menu will be divided into nibbles and flatbreads, skewers, and grilled options, with larger plates and sides also available. As well as championing modest, British ingredients, Roe’s dishes will showcase underused and underappreciated produce.

THE POSITION

As a Sommelier at Roe, you will work closely with our Head Sommelier, bringing your expertise and passion for wine to elevate our guests’ dining journey. You will have the opportunity to curate a diverse and exciting wine selection that perfectly complements our innovative cuisine, setting the standard for excellence in hospitality.

Responsibilities:

  • Showcase your expert knowledge of wines and beverages, guiding guests through thoughtful pairings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source unique and sustainable wines that align with Roe’s ethos.
  • Train and mentor the team to deliver exceptional service and uphold the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Drive profitability through effective inventory management and cost control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sommelier or Junior Sommelier in a quality restaurant
  • WSET Level 2, or passionate about wine and eager to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing your knowledge with both guests and team members.
  • A collaborative spirit and a commitment to fostering a positive work culture.
